Romanian Team Leads Workshop on Sexual Education Within Erasmus+ Project

11-09-2025

As part of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Youth for a Healthy Sexual Life”, the Romanian team organized on 11 September a special workshop dedicated to sexual education, which brought together around 20 young participants from the local community.

The activity was designed and facilitated by the Romanian participants themselves, putting into practice the knowledge and skills they had gained during the exchange in Predeal. Using non-formal education methods, they created an open and safe environment where young people could learn, ask questions, and share ideas on an often sensitive but vital topic.

What we discussed

The workshop covered several key aspects of sexual health and well-being, including:

  • The importance of sexual education in preventing risks and promoting healthy lifestyles;
  • Understanding the difference between STIs and STDs;
  • Protection methods, with a focus on the correct use of condoms;
  • The significance of consent in relationships;
  • Why regular medical check-ups and testing matter for young people.

Why it mattered

The 20 participants showed great interest and curiosity, engaging actively in the discussions and activities. Many of them highlighted that they rarely have the chance to talk about these issues in an open, non-judgmental space. The workshop not only improved their knowledge, but also encouraged them to think about how they can share accurate information among their peers.

A lasting impact

This workshop is part of the wider dissemination activities of the project, which aim to reach at least 600 young people in each partner country with awareness campaigns and educational events. By taking the lead, the Romanian team demonstrated that young people are not just beneficiaries of such projects, but also active multipliers of change in their communities.

We are proud of their initiative and commitment, and we believe this workshop is a great step towards building healthier, better-informed, and more confident generations of young people.
