“Youth for a Healthy Sexual Life” comes to an end — empowering young Europeans to talk openly, respectfully, and confidently about sexual education and healthy relationships
Project period: 1 March – 30 October 2025
Main activity: Youth Exchange, 20–29 August 2025, Predeal, Romania
Coordinated by: Asociația Tinerii 3D (Romania)
Partner organizations:
- FUTURE HUMANS – Bulgaria
- Diverse Youth Network Association – Hungary
- WE GO – Lithuania
- Young Effect APS – Italy
Today, 30 October 2025, marks the official conclusion of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Youth for a Healthy Sexual Life,” a project that successfully brought together young people from five European countries — Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Lithuania, and Italy — to promote open dialogue, respect, and informed choices around sexual education and healthy relationships.
The initiative ran from 1 March to 30 October 2025, with its main activity taking place between 20–29 August 2025 in Predeal, Romania. Over these months, 45 participants aged 16–20 (accompanied by youth leaders and facilitators) explored essential topics such as consent, protection, self-awareness, body image, communication, and emotional intelligence in relationships.
Using non-formal education methods like workshops, role plays, group discussions, and creative challenges, participants learned how to express their thoughts freely and respectfully, breaking taboos surrounding sexual education. Through dialogue and shared experiences, they discovered how cultural, social, and personal values shape one’s understanding of intimacy and responsibility.
Learning, empowerment, and community impact
The project had four key objectives:
- To increase young people’s knowledge and skills regarding sexual education, ensuring they can make healthier, more responsible choices.
- To reach at least 600 people per country through awareness campaigns about topics like protection, healthy relationships, consent, and the importance of regular medical check-ups.
- To empower participants to become peer educators, sharing what they learned with at least 10 peers each through local actions and workshops.
- To promote Erasmus+ opportunities, inspiring youth to engage in European projects that foster growth and understanding.
After returning home, the young participants continued spreading the message. In Romania, for instance, one of the participants, Cristian, organized a workshop in his high school — Liceul Tehnologic Nikola Tesla — where he led an open conversation with 11th-grade students, joined by teachers and school staff. Similar dissemination activities were carried out in the partner countries, ensuring that the project’s impact extended far beyond the days spent in Predeal.
A shared European effort
“Youth for a Healthy Sexual Life” was a genuine example of European cooperation and youth empowerment. The project united organizations and young people who believe that education about sexual health should not be a taboo, but a key element of personal development and community well-being.
Through collaboration, creativity, and empathy, participants built bridges across cultures and learned how to create safer, more inclusive spaces for dialogue — both online and offline.
A message for the future
As the project officially concludes today, Asociația Tinerii 3D and its partners celebrate not just the activities completed, but the conversations that will continue long after. The participants are now better informed, more confident, and ready to become ambassadors of respect, equality, and healthy choices in their communities.
“Youth for a Healthy Sexual Life” was co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
